Open Access

Open access is an online research outputs which is free of all restrictions on access and use. Open access can be applicable to all forms of published research output, peer-reviewed and nonpeer-reviewed academic journal articles, conference papers, theses, book chapters and monographs. Author will pay the processing charges to publish his work.

Open access is of two types gratis open access, which is online access free of charge, and libre open access, which is online access free of charge plus various additional usage rights.

Pure open access journals do not charge processing fees; they will receive funding from research funding agencies, university funds, and research grants from government. This is known as 'green' open access. Example: PubMed Central.

In other way author can make their work open access is by publishing their research output immediately available from the publisher. This is known as 'gold' open access. In this process author must pay the processing charges to publisher.

Online publishing includes the digital publication of research work, newly invented techniques and procedures, e-books, digital magazines, and the development of digital libraries and catalogues. Electronic publishing has become common in scientific publishing, distribute books, magazines and newspapers to consumers.
