Dr. Abdelmonem A. Richard Kones MD, PhD, FAHA, FESC, FRSM, FRSH, FAGS, FRSB, attended NYU School of Medicine, was a NIH Fellow in cardiology at Tulane University School of Medicine. Continuing his work at NY Medical College, he published a monograph on ventricular mechanics and book entitled Cardiogenic Shock. Eventually relocated to Houston, his recent research has focused on PCI and CABG in multivessel coronary disease and prevention of cardiometabolic risk to improve clinical outcomes. During his academic career he has had several teaching appointments, received scholarships, awards, and grants. His work includes 120 publications, 6 books, presentations, courses, and lectures; he has peer-reviewed for 170 different medical/health publishers.
